Everyone knows The Wolf and the Seven Little Goats in dutch de wolf en de zeven geitjes. But not many knew de wollef en de Seve Geitjes, the story in Bargoens—Amsterdam’s old-school underworld slang, once spoken by crooks, market vendors, and other city characters. We rewrote the whole thing, illustrated it, laid it out, published it, and got it out there. From 2014 to 2025, De Wollef en de Seve Geitjes sold over 20,000 copies—online and through a handful of sharp-eyed Amsterdam (book)shops. Not bad for a streetwise fairytale with a foul mouth and a sharp edge. In 2025, we stopped selling it. But you never know, maybe the Wollef’s not gone forever.
